The Mum Rage Recovery Map
Understanding what just happened, and what to do next
If you have just lost your temper with your child, and what is loudest right now is not the rage but the shame — this guide is for you.
The Mum Rage Recovery Map is a free guide written for the moment after a rage event. It will not fix it. That is honest work for a longer conversation. But it will give you somewhere to stand right now, instead of inside the shame.
Inside the guide:
What just happened — the mechanism behind why ADHD and autistic mothers go from zero to a hundred without warning
A note on the shame — why mum rage carries a particular shame, and why it is not a character flaw
Three things that help in the next hour — concrete tools, designed for a brain that processes the world differently
A simple body map — for beginning to catch the early-warning signals you may have been missing
One question for tomorrow — for when the urgency has lifted and you have slept
The guide is grounded in clinical research, my work as a Perinatal Counsellor supporting ADHD and autistic mothers, and my own lived experience as an AuDHD mother of three.
This guide is for any mother whose nervous system has always processed the world more intensely than the people around her — whether you have a formal diagnosis of ADHD or autism, are still piecing it together, identify as an empath or highly sensitive, or simply know that something has always worked differently in you.
This guide is not a diagnostic tool, and it is not a substitute for therapy. If you are in crisis or feel at risk of harming yourself or your child, please contact emergency services or your local crisis line immediately.
